Doctors: your patients get an answer while you are seeing patients.
During a consultation, the practice phone rings and nobody can answer without interrupting a patient. The Alyas agent acts as a remote medical secretary: it answers using the information you provide, offers an appointment and leaves you a summary of every call.
What the agent does for you
Tell patients about the practice’s opening hours, address and procedures
Offer an appointment in a free slot in your calendar
Note the reason for the call and the patient’s contact details for a callback
Transfer the call to the number you have configured when the situation requires it

Frequently asked questions
Can a patient refuse the AI and ask for the secretary or the doctor?
Yes. After the opening announcement — AI assistant, conversation recorded — the patient can ask for a human at any time: the call is transferred to the number you have configured, or their callback request is noted. See also our guide to what the GDPR and the AI Act require.
A patient asks for a repeat prescription over the phone: what does the agent do?
It never gives an opinion on a treatment: it notes the patient’s name, the medication mentioned and the callback number, then follows your instruction — passing it on to the doctor or offering an appointment. The medical decision remains entirely yours.
Several doctors share the same line: who does the agent transfer to?
An agent has a single transfer number: in a group practice, point it to a shared line, reception or the secretariat, which then directs the call to the right practitioner. Appointments, for their part, are booked in the connected Google Calendar or Cal.com calendar.
Does the Alyas agent replace a traditional medical answering service?
It handles the everyday reception tasks: answering, providing information from what you have supplied, noting requests and offering appointments. You stay in control of the instructions, and it transfers the call to you or your secretariat as soon as the situation calls for it.
Will my patients know they are talking to an artificial intelligence?
Yes. In line with the AI Act, the agent states at the start of the call that it is an AI and that the conversation is recorded. The full transcript of every exchange remains available in your client dashboard.
