Building tradespeople: your job requests no longer get lost on site.
On a building site, you don’t pick up. The Alyas agent takes the call, understands the request and passes it on to you with the customer’s contact details.
On the phone, in this line of work
A building tradesperson gets very different kinds of calls: a homeowner thinking of redoing their bathroom, a neighbour reporting a door that sticks, a customer whose job is under way and who wants to schedule the delivery of their tiles, a building manager looking for someone to redo some rendering. There are also suppliers confirming a delivery time and former customers reporting a finish that needs touching up. Many come in during the working day, others on Saturday, when homeowners finally have time to think about their projects.
On scaffolding, with render setting or a saw running, picking up is not an option. The call goes to voicemail and the message is often incomplete: a first name, a mumbled number, “it’s about some work”. In the evening, you have to call back strangers without knowing what it is about, and some have already found another tradesperson during the day. The most interesting project, a full renovation for example, is not necessarily the one that leaves the clearest message.
Alyas takes the call while you are unavailable and asks the questions you have listed: type of work, address, desired timeframe, access to the property. It can offer a quote visit in your connected calendar and, if the situation described falls within what you consider urgent, switch the call to your mobile. A written summary of each call is ready for your break or the evening. If your business is a specific trade, dedicated pages cover the cases of the plumber, electrician, heating engineer, roofer, locksmith and landscaper.

Frequently asked questions
Does a customer calling me about a job understand that it isn’t me answering?
Yes: the agent introduces itself as an AI on behalf of your business and says the call is recorded. If the customer insists on speaking to you, the call is transferred to the number you have configured, or their request is noted so you can call back at the end of the day. See also our guide to what the GDPR and the AI Act require.
Will sales reps and suppliers clutter up my call summaries?
All calls are transcribed and summarised, including sales calls. You can ask the agent simply to take their details, without offering a slot or a transfer, so you can spot them at a glance in your client dashboard.
I work alone with a business line: how do I connect the agent?
Two options: forward your business line to Alyas through your phone operator, or use a dedicated number. Either way, you set a single transfer number per agent for the calls that need to reach you directly.
No call or message left unanswered.
