You’re winching on the hard shoulder, and the breakdown and towing line answers for you.
When your flatbed is already loaded and you are strapping down a vehicle on the hard shoulder, the phone can ring for a long time. The Alyas agent answers, takes down the driver’s location, the type of vehicle and the nature of the breakdown, then transfers the call to the on-call number.
What the agent does for you
Take down the location described by the driver: road, direction of travel, kilometre marker or last exit.
Note the vehicle — model, size, gearbox — and the reported fault so the right equipment can be prepared.
Go through the safety questions you have defined: passengers sheltering behind the crash barrier, high-visibility vest, warning triangle.
Transfer the call to the on-call number and log every request with a transcript and summary.

A scenario written to show how it works: it is not the recording of a real call.
- The contactA driver calls from a country road: a broken belt, the car stranded on the verge.
- Alyas agentThe agent says it is an AI, then asks for the road, the direction of travel, a landmark and the vehicle model.
- Alyas agentIt relays your safety instructions — passengers out of the vehicle, somewhere safe — then transfers the call to the on-call number.
- The repair order is prepared on a sound footing: the summary and contact details are already in the client dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
At the roadside, is the driver told that they are talking to an AI?
Yes, in one sentence, along with the fact that the call is recorded; the agent then moves on to the location and safety questions. If they ask for the breakdown operator directly, the call is transferred to the configured on-call number. See also our guide to what the GDPR and the AI Act require.
A driver calls on behalf of their breakdown assistance provider: can the agent handle this kind of job?
It notes the name of the assistance provider, the file number given and the location, then follows your instructions for these jobs. It confirms no financial cover, which is settled between you and the assistance provider.
Does the number painted on our flatbeds have to change?
No, nothing to repaint: forwarding to Alyas is set up with your operator, and the number on your vehicles and in your directory listings stays in service. Only the on-call number the agent transfers to needs to be kept up to date.
Does the agent know where the broken-down driver is?
It does not geolocate anyone: it asks the questions you have defined — road, direction of travel, kilometre marker, last exit or landmark — and passes these details on with the call. It is the caller who describes their location.
