Google Maps and AI agent: guiding your visitors to your door

The connection between Alyas and Google Maps is planned, but not yet live. It aims to make the agent a guide: the one who knows where to find you and how to get there.

Available soon. The Google Maps integration cannot be used yet: what follows describes the intended use, with no date promised, and then what you can already do with Alyas.

Why connect Google Maps to your agent

Google Maps brings together maps, routes and the location of places. When someone looks up an address on their phone, it is often the first step before walking into a shop, a hotel or a tourist office.

The question “how do I get to you?” nevertheless keeps coming back, by phone as in messaging: parking, nearest transport stop, which entrance to use. An agent would do better to rely on the map than on a fixed sentence.

What the agent will do with Google Maps

Available soon

  • The agent will use Google Maps to locate your premises and point the way for the person asking how to get there.
  • A chat visitor, a WhatsApp correspondent or a caller will no longer have to guess: the agent will describe the route to your address from the starting point they give.
  • The exact scope of the connection will be specified at launch; no date is announced to date.

What already works today

  • In the agent's knowledge base, from your website, PDF files or simple text, you record your full address and your access instructions: parking, floor, visual landmark.
  • The voice agent answers the phone on a dedicated number using the business's information, and can pass the call to a number of your team that you set.
  • On your website chat, the widget in your business's colours gives those same instructions, and you test it before putting it live.
  • On WhatsApp, the agent answers messages received on the business number, once the Twilio account, Meta Business verification and a dedicated number are in place.

Frequently asked questions

Does the agent already show a map or a route?

No. Today, it gives back the address and access instructions you have written in its knowledge base. No route is drawn.

How can I prepare the agent to give access information in the meantime?

Write a complete access paragraph in its knowledge base: address, landmarks, parking, nearby transport. Then run a few tests on the chat before going live.

Will the route be able to be sent by text message?

Alyas does not send text messages. The agent replies in the channel where the question is asked: phone, chat, WhatsApp or Messenger.

When will this integration be delivered?

No date is given. This page will be updated the day the connection goes live.
