What a team cloud phone system does
The core of a team cloud phone system is the tool for the people who answer: a softphone available from a browser, a computer or a mobile, numbers, interactive voice response, call transfer, recording and statistics. The fuller plans add teams with call distribution (ringing everyone, in turn, or whoever has been idle longest) and an adjustable queue.
Many connect to a CRM or a support tool, and some also cover outbound calls, campaigns and SMS follow-up. It is working equipment for people, not a replacement for those people.
Some vendors also offer an AI agent
Several cloud phone vendors now sell an AI voice agent as an option, often billed per minute or per seat. For a business that already has such a system, trying it is a logical step before looking elsewhere: calls, history and CRM stay in one place.
Then compare what you actually pay for: the price of the option, minutes included, what happens beyond them, data hosting, and what the agent can do on its own (appointments, transfer, CRM updates).
When Alyas is an alternative
If nobody at your business is on the phone all day, the question may not be “which phone system?” but “who answers?”. That is the case for a practice, a tradesperson or a small agency whose calls get lost during appointments or in the evening.
Alyas answers the calls you forward to it, evenings and weekends included, from the information you give it (website, text, PDF), says it is an AI, takes contact details, offers a slot through Google Calendar or Cal.com and sends you a transcript and a summary of each call. Prices are on the Pricing page, with a 10-day free trial, no card.
When Alyas is a complement
A sales or support team that lives in its phone tool needs its softphone, its queues and its CRM integrations: Alyas does not replace them. It can, however, take the calls that come in outside hours or go unanswered.
That assumes your phone system can forward calls to an external number; check the forwarding scenarios available in your setup (no answer, busy, out of hours).
Our verdict
A team that answers all day and works in a CRM keeps its cloud phone system, and can first try its vendor's AI agent if there is one. A small business with no switchboard operator that mainly wants unanswered calls handled will find Alyas more direct.
Frequently asked questions
Does a team cloud phone system include an AI voice agent?
Sometimes, as an option: several vendors offer one, usually billed on top, per minute or per seat. Look at the price of the option, the minutes included and what the agent can do on its own before comparing.
Can Alyas replace the cloud phone system of a sales team?
No. Alyas provides no softphone, no multi-agent queues and no SMS. It answers and handles calls in place of a human; it does not equip a team that makes calls.
Can you use Alyas alongside a cloud phone system?
Yes, if your phone system can forward calls to an external number: unanswered or out-of-hours calls are then forwarded to Alyas, which answers, takes contact details and sends a summary.
