Ringover in brief
Ringover describes itself as an AI-enhanced SaaS platform that goes beyond cloud telephony. Its phone system can be used from a computer or from mobile apps, with IVR (“press 1, press 2…”), time-based routing, call distribution, announcements and hold music, and call recording.
According to its help centre, queue customisation, reserved for Ringover Business accounts, allows fine-tuning: maximum number of callers, waiting time, callback offer, redirection based on agent status. The platform adds numbers in many countries, SMS campaigns, a Power Dialer for prospecting and more than 100 integrations, including Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk and Odoo.
AIRO, Ringover’s voice agent
Ringover offers AIRO, presented as an intelligent phone agent able to greet, understand and handle inbound calls automatically, 24/7. It qualifies the call, transfers to the right person while keeping the context and handles simple requests on its own, including in French, English and Spanish according to the dedicated page.
Ringover states that AIRO is activated as an add-on directly within Ringover. According to the same page, calls are transcribed, summarised, analysed and logged in the company’s tools. For a business that is already a customer, it is the most integrated route.
What Ringover does that Alyas does not
Alyas is not a phone system: there is no app for your staff to make and receive calls, no queues between several human agents, no SMS and no outbound dialling. A support or sales team that needs these features will not find a Ringover replacement in Alyas.
Its approach is the opposite: one core use, AI call answering, with the AI and the recording announced at the start of the call, answers drawn from your documents, capture of contact details, appointments and transfer to a number of your choice.
When an independent agent makes sense
A business that is not looking for a cloud phone system but simply wants its calls answered can keep its current line with its operator and forward it to Alyas, provided that line allows forwarding to an external number. It thus avoids migrating its entire telephony just to get a voice agent.
A business equipped with Ringover can also keep its phone system and hand certain calls to an outside agent, as long as its call flow allows forwarding to an external number; this can be checked in the settings or with Ringover support.
Our verdict
If several people answer calls, use a CRM and do outbound prospecting, Ringover with AIRO as an option makes a coherent whole. If all you need is to stop missing calls, without changing line or operator, Alyas meets that specific need.
Frequently asked questions
Does AIRO require a Ringover subscription?
Ringover’s page on its AI receptionist states that AIRO is activated as an add-on directly within Ringover; it also shows a per-minute plan “with no subscription” alongside monthly AIRO plans. It does not specify the access conditions for a business that does not already use the platform: that is a question to put to Ringover.
Does Alyas replace Ringover’s IVR?
It replaces the keypad menu with a conversation: the caller says what they want and the agent answers or transfers. It does not, however, manage queues between human agents. Our resource on traditional vs conversational IVR explains the difference.
Do I need to change operator to use Alyas?
In principle, no. Alyas receives calls forwarded from your existing line: you keep your number and your operator, provided your line allows forwarding to an external number. With Ringover as elsewhere, this can be checked in the settings or with support.
