Zadarma, self-service IP telephony
Zadarma has been in telecoms since 2006 and describes itself as fully automated, with no sales team: each customer activates their services from their personal account. The virtual phone system includes IVR, conditional and unconditional forwarding, call transfer and call pickup, recording, voicemail, statistics, speech recognition and missed-call notifications in a messaging app. As of 1 October 2026, it is free provided the account is topped up at least once every three months, otherwise it costs €4 per month, and it is always free in the Office and Corporation plans.
A visual editor lets you design the call flow in blocks. Incoming calls to virtual numbers are free, except for toll-free numbers; outgoing calls are billed per second or included in plans, such as Office (10 users, 2 numbers, 2,000 outgoing minutes) and Corporation (20 users, 5 numbers, 4,000 outgoing minutes). Prices are shown excluding tax.
Zadarma’s AI voice agent, a tool you configure
Zadarma presents its agent as a voice bot based on OpenAI-family language models. You create it in AI Studio, link it to an internal extension of the virtual phone system, then choose the language (more than 20 available), the voice, the model, a “temperature” slider, a system prompt, a knowledge base (PDFs, links, FAQ), call limits and transfer rules. Several agents can coexist, and the history gives the transcript of each conversation.
The agent handles incoming calls only, and its per-minute cost depends on the model and language chosen, with an estimate shown during setup. For a business already on Zadarma and comfortable with these settings, it is the option that plugs directly into its call scenarios.
What Alyas does differently
Alyas does not depend on a phone system or an operator: it receives the calls your current line forwards to it and answers using the information you provide (website, text, PDFs). It states from the outset that it is an AI and that the call is recorded, collects contact details, offers an appointment in Google Calendar or Cal.com and produces a transcript and a summary of each call, hosted in the European Union.
It does not replace Zadarma’s telephony: no extensions, no IVR, no routing between departments, no SMS, and a single transfer number, used when the caller asks. It suits businesses that want AI call answering without changing operator or setting up a VoIP phone system.
Forwarding Zadarma calls to Alyas
Zadarma’s virtual phone system provides conditional or unconditional forwarding, and a virtual number can be forwarded to any phone number you choose. A branch of the scenario, for example out of hours or after no answer, could therefore end at Alyas; test it in the visual editor before putting it into service.
Zadarma states that forwarding a call costs the price of an outgoing call to the destination number, according to its rate card. This cost comes on top of the Alyas subscription.
Our verdict
A business that wants numbers in several countries, a virtual phone system and control over every setting will find a complete package at Zadarma, AI agent included, provided it configures everything itself. A business that keeps its current line and wants an agent that answers from its own information, offers appointments in Google Calendar or Cal.com and sends it a transcript and summary can choose Alyas, possibly behind a forwarded Zadarma number.
Frequently asked questions
Does Zadarma offer an AI voice agent?
Yes. Users of Zadarma’s virtual phone system can create one or more AI voice agents in AI Studio, with a knowledge base, a choice of model and transfer rules. The cost is calculated per minute depending on the model and language; as of 1 October 2026, the Office plan includes 100 AI agent minutes and the Corporation plan 200.
How much does it cost to forward a Zadarma call to another number?
According to Zadarma, forwarding a call costs the same as an outgoing call to the destination number. The rate depends on the country and the type of number, landline or mobile.
Alyas or Zadarma’s AI agent: which should I choose?
The Zadarma agent is built into the Zadarma phone system and can be finely tuned in AI Studio (model, prompt, knowledge base, transfer rules). Alyas works with any line that can forward to an external number, answers from your website, your texts or your PDFs and offers appointments in Google Calendar or Cal.com.
